Virat Kohli joins team India ahead of their cricket World Cup match against Australia

Pakistan secured a comprehensive 81-run victory against a battling Netherlands to kickstart their World Cup campaign. Babar Azam’s side were in trouble after falling to 38-3 in the early stages but half-centuries from Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan saw them recover to post 286 after 49 overs.

Netherlands started brightly in their chase as Bas de Leede and Vikram Singh both reached their half-centuries as part of a 70-run stand. But when Singh fell, the Dutch middle order failed to provide support for De Leede who eventually fell for 67, with Scott Edward’s side losing their last 8 wickets for 85 runs as they were bowled out for 205.

WICKET! Singh c Zaman b Shadab 52 (NED 120-3)

That match-winning knock will have to wait! Straight after reaching his 50, Singh is caught in the deep as he tries to take one a big shot. A breakthrough for Shadab and Netherland’s nice partnership comes to an abrupt and untimely end.

A great knock from the Singh as he finds the final three runs required to move to his half-century. Can he hang in there and produce a match-winning knock for his side?

Netherlands 114-2 (23) De Leede 40, Singh 47, Rauf 0-17 (4) target 287

Babar Azam wants a wicket as he brings back Rauf into the attack for a short burst. Blistering pace on display, as you would expect, but De Leede throws everything at the second bouncer and his top edge flies over the keeper’s head for four.

A fortunate way to move into the forties for the Dutch number four.
