Virat Kohli joins team India ahead of their cricket World Cup match against Australia

Pakistan secured a comprehensive 81-run victory against a battling Netherlands to kickstart their World Cup campaign. Babar Azam’s side were in trouble after falling to 38-3 in the early stages but half-centuries from Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan saw them recover to post 286 after 49 overs.

Netherlands started brightly in their chase as Bas de Leede and Vikram Singh both reached their half-centuries as part of a 70-run stand. But when Singh fell, the Dutch middle order failed to provide support for De Leede who eventually fell for 67, with Scott Edward’s side losing their last 8 wickets for 85 runs as they were bowled out for 205.

WICKET! Edwards lbw b Rauf 0 (PAK 133-5)

There’s no reprieve for the Netherlands skipper as the review shows the ball would have cannoned into the leg stump. Three quick wickets for Pakistan and Netherlands are in a spot of bother now with this run chase.

WICKET! Nidamanuru c Zaman b Rauf (NED 133-4)

Nidamanuru almost gets tucked up by Rauf’s bouncer but flicks it well over his shoulder and the ball runs away to the ropes for the first boundary of his innings.

But he’s gone the next ball! It’s another big shot, taking on the bouncer, but he holes out to Zaman at deep square-leg. Another breakthrough for Pakistan.

De Leeds is motoring along nicely as a well-time shot finds another two off Shadab’s first ball.

Nidamanuru gives him back the strike with his first runs of the game but De Leede can’t find a single to get to his fifty just yet. Four from the over as we tick into the second half of this innings.
