England have cruised to an eight-wickets victory over Bangladesh to continue their perfect start at the T20 World Cup. After Eoin Morgan’s side crushed West Indies in their opening match with a blistering display of bowling which saw them all out for 55, England were again impressive as they restricted Bangladesh to 124.

Moeen Ali removed Bangladesh’s openers with back-to-back deliveries, while Liam Livingstone took out the experienced pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and captain Mahmudullah just as they were beginning to build momentum. Chris Woakes yielded just 12 runs before Tymal Mills took consecutive wickets at the end of the innings to take his total to three.

Given a target of 125, Jason Roy smashed 61 runs from 38 balls alongside Jos Buttler (18) and Dawid Malan (28 not out) to secure a comfortable victory that sees England top Group 1 ahead of Saturday’s clash against Australia. Follow all the reaction and latest updates from the T20 World Cup below.

9th over: Bangladesh 49-3 (Mahmudullah 8, Mushfiqur 20)

Good response from Bangladesh. Mahmudullah steps into Rashid’s spin and find the boundary on the off-side after picking up a couple of singles.

8th over: Bangladesh 43-3 (Mahmudullah 3, Mushfiqur 19)

Chris Jordan’s first ball of the over is driven by Mushfiqur for a double, before he clips another delivery to third man and finds the boundary. It hadn’t been the slickest of overs from Jordan and he bowls a wide on the last ball of the over, before Mahmudullah cuts the ball square for a single.

7th over: Bangladesh 30-3 (Mahmudullah 1, Mushfiqur 11)

Wow, what a catch that almost was from Tymal Mills! Mushfiqur switches on Rashid ball to the leg side and catches it clean. It looks set for the boundary but for a magnificent leap from Mills. He gets his fingertips to the ball but can’t quite hold on. Still, he denies the boundary.

6th over: Bangladesh 27-3 (Mahmudullah 0, Mushfiqur 9)

Another great over from England - as Woakes ensures Bangladesh can’t get any momentum. Mushfiqur adds a couple of singles but England had good cover in the field.

That brings an end to Bangladesh’s power play and Rashid is taking the ball now up against two right handers.

WICKET! Shakib c Rashid b Woakes (Bangladesh 26-3)

What a catch from Adil Rashid! Shakib is out for four after trying to scoop the ball over his shoulder. Rashid scampered back before turning and diving to make the catch. That was quality.

5th over: Bangladesh 24-2 (Shakib 2, Mushfiqur 8)

With Moeen back on the ball, Mushfiqur wraps up a steady over for Bangladesh by hitting the spinner with a boundary down the field.

4th over: Bangladesh 18-2 (Shakib 1, Mushfiqur 3)

Woakes takes the ball back for his second over as Bangladesh look to steady the ship. Woekes hits Mushfiqur with a bouncer before the Bangladesh man takes swing at square leg, but England have a fielder in position and it’s only a single.

Mushfique seems to have hurt his finger in that Woakes bouncer and is receiving some treatment.

3rd over: Bangladesh 15-2 (Shakib 0, Mushfiqur 1)

A lovely over from Moeen Ali as the England spinner takes out Bangladesh’s openers in two balls. Mushfiqur gets off the mark on the final ball of the over.

WICKET! Naim c Woakes b Moeen (Bangladesh 14-2)

Two wickets in two balls for Moeen Ali! After Liton hit a ball high into the sky, Naim follows with a tame shot on the next ball that is easily caught by Chris Woakes. Disaster for Bangladesh. Moeen’s on a hat-trick...
