Luke Campbell challenged the sensational Vasyl Lomachenko for the world lightweight title at the O2 Arena on Saturday night.

It was Campbell's second chance at world honours, with the Hull man coming up short once again as the pound-for-pound King's class was simply too much in the end.

Lomachenko remains considered the number one fighter in the world by many but Campbell provided the Ukranian with arguably his toughest test to date in the lightweight division so far.

The undercard was packed with action, including Alexander Povetkin against Hughie Fury, with the Russian prevailing in a unanimous decision victory.

Recap on all the action below.

Of course, I am happy. I want to thank all the fans and people who came to the fight. This is my title. The UK fans are the best in the world.

"Eddie, any chance of him [Lomachenko] coming back some time?" said Bob Arum.

Eddie Hearn: "Yeah absolutely, are you kidding?! Can I be on your side this time though? It's the same with Usyk. You can bring Usyk back to the UK and you will sell out."

Despite a pretty conclusive win in the end for Loma, Carl Frampton doesn't seem to think he is as good as we all think.

"Campbell's shown tonight that Lomachenko is not unbeatable anymore."

We'll let you decide on that one.

Tony Bellew seems to echo his sentiments, saying:

You've lost to the greatest fighter in the whole world and there's no shame in that," Bellew told Sky Sports.

The cards were very harsh on him.

That's the most I've seen Vasiliy Lomachenko caught clean in a fight.

Team Lomachenko, it's not a bad one is it?

Have a little read of Jack Rathborn's ringside fight report, it's a good one.

"Like a bolt of lightning, Lomachenko found his target in the third, a clean straight left unsettled Campbell, who did well to earn a nod of the head from the Ukrainian after responding with a smart uppercut. This was unfolding into an intense, compelling chess match."

Luke Campbell was, as you might expect, humble in defeat.

"He is so good, he adapts to any plans," said Campbell. "Tonight was not the jackpot but my time will come."

Even The Independent's very own Steve Bunce wasn't overly impressed by Lomachenko tonight - or was it more than he was really impressed by Luke Campbell?

We came for sorcery and were given a display of old-fashioned grit, determination and heart and desire," he told BBC Five Live.

Such bravery, such guts. The points mean nothing. Luke Campbell made the magician look normal.

With Lomachenko now possessing three out of the four lightweight belts, all he needs is one more to become the first man to completely unify the division since the late, great Pernell Whitaker.

Standing in his way is one of Teofimo Lopez or Richard Commey, with the latter holding the IBF title and the pair set to meet before the end of the year.

It's then expected that the winner of the bout will face Lomachenko to decide who the undisputed champion of the division is.
