Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Will the winner be the best HW in the world?

"I already am. I am the lineal champion. Going back to 1898. He will be the best if he beats me, but he won't. I sit here as the best heavyweight alive. Many men have tried to take things from me in the past, but nobody has ever bettered me. Not a spar, not a boxing match, not anything. So if Deontay is that man, god bless him, because I have been searching for him. Frank Warren has been looking but he didn't find him, because he doesn't exist.

"He tried to make it in football, basketball, but he wasn't good enough. I didn't want to do anything else but be a fighting man. That is all I have ever done. I had the opportunity to come to the US to be a basketball player but I said no thank you, I am going to be HW champion of the world. I was born to do this. No disrespect to Deontay because he shouts out Bullet Squad a lot and talks a lot of notice, but he has no charisma.

"Wilder hasn't always been this bright, brash character. He hasn't always been that. Up until Stivrene he was shy and reserved. Now he has swag but it's fake, he's a snide and a fraud. I look at him and see a pretender. I smack them in the mouth. I have been like this since day one. I am what I am, a bald, big bearded hulk of a man."

Wilder: "The winner will be the baddest man on the planet. He can say what he wants. He comes from a small place. If I was from the same place I would be the well most known. I never saw him in the Olympics, or with a medal. Why wasn't he there? I have knocked out every fighter that I have faced. Why hasn't he? With the Klitschko fight, Klitschko beat himself. If he had have thrown more punches it would have been different. Saturday night it is a different beast in the ring."

Tyson is jabbering back, insulting Wilder's dress sense.

Tyson: "Klitschko couldn't land and neither will this bum."

Vithushan Ehantharajah28 November 2018 21:16

Wilder: "I am unpredictable too. There will no more Mr Nice Guy."

Fury: "I'm going to take you for a dance. Let's waltz all over the ring."

Vithushan Ehantharajah28 November 2018 21:17

I think that's probably it. No pushing or shoving yet. Although Fury has just called Wilder a dosser.

Vithushan Ehantharajah28 November 2018 21:18

Time for the face-off.

Vithushan Ehantharajah28 November 2018 21:19

Hello, Fury's shirt is off.

Vithushan Ehantharajah28 November 2018 21:23

Well, that escalated quickly. Wilder started to scream in Fury's face. Fury's brother Shane hobbled up onto the stage, on crutches. Fury whipped his shirt off. They were quickly separated. And that's that!
