From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Dereck Chisora promised that he is “not preparing to box – but preparing to go to war” ahead of his December 22 rematch with domestic rival Dillian Whyte.

The pair faced the press shortly after announcing their December rematch at The O2 in London, and it did not take particularly long for tempers to flare.

What you need to know:

When is the fight?

The fight is on December 22.

Where is the fight?

London’s O2 Arena will host the clash?

What happened in the first fight?

Whyte edged a points decision over Chisora, after a thrilling fight that went down as a contender for fight of the year.

Whyte

"I'm in this game to give fans proper fights. Dereck is a real life donkey, you've been in boxing over 20 years, why would you give David Haye easy 25 per cent of your money and get a worse deal? Maybe he might give him emotional support. I can fight and I show up to fight.

"Every fight with Matchroom is a risk! There's fights I wanted I didn't get and I get hard fights."

Chisora

What's the risk? Brown? That's not a risk, I knocked him out in sparring.

Whyte

That has no relevance.

Chisora

My nephew can beat Joseph Park

I don't matter what's happened behind the scenes, I'm going to destroy you

You get ready with your boys and I'll get ready

Whyte

What boys!? At the time I took you on, you was a veteran, the referee had to help you off the floor

Chisora

I slipped.

Whyte

After I put you down, I'll take you out for a meal

Jack Watson1 November 2018 14:01

Whyte

You're a strange guy, I feel sorry for your family

Chisora

That's where you go wrong, why bring family into it. Don't bring family into it. I don't think there's enough men around to hold me back if you start talking crap

Whyte

You don't scare me. You threw a table at me and I didn't move. I have a bit of respect for you, but I don't fear you. I love animals.

Jack Watson1 November 2018 14:03

Whyte

Dereck's going to look like road kill after the fight.

Jack Watson1 November 2018 14:04

Haye

This guy has an untapped reserve of magic nobody has seen before *Whyte laughs 'he's a great salesman, he sold a fight and complained about his toe, I'm so glad you're repping for me.'*

Jack Watson1 November 2018 14:06

Mark Tibbs (Whyte trainer)

I'm glad Dereck has a compassionate man in his corner.

Don Charles (Chisora trainer)

Mark, one thing about me, I'm very old school, what you just said will come back and bite you on the backside. Your coach is not very intelligent. Conduct my dear friend, conduct.

Jack Watson1 November 2018 14:08

Face off time!

All smiles from Whyte, and all business from Chisora.

The pair face off and there's no antics. A few muted words, but nothing drastic.

A handshake and that's that.
