From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Dillian Whyte has moved into contention for a rematch with Anthony Joshua after winning his grudge match with Dereck Chisora by devastatingly stopping his rival in the 11th round.
Two years after narrowly outpointing his opponent, Whyte demonstrated his improvement and furthered Chisora's decline by leaving him unconscious for a worryingly long time at London's 02 Arena.
He was expected to be confirmed as the next challenger to Joshua at Wembley on April 13, but potentially faces an anxious wait while the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion considers instead fighting in the US for the first time.
Whyte will regardless remain at world-level as one of the division's leading contenders and a likely future challenger to Joshua, but if he is forced to wait could struggle to maintain the impressive momentum he has built.
The way Chisora's head heavily hit the canvas after Whyte's powerful left hook landed secured the latest damaging defeat of what has already been a difficult career, meaning that at 34 and with fewer options he should consider retirement.

Who's going to win?
Dillian Whyte 2/5
Dereck Chisora 5/2
Draw 20/1
Round seven: Better from Whyte, who gets his jab going again and manages to keep away from the heavy body shots Chisora has been pounding him with.
Both men are swinging rather wildly and balance is playing a big part in this.
I'd give that one to Whyte.
One more low blow from Chisora and the referee has warned him a point will be deducted.
A point has been taken off Dereck Chisora for another low blow. No complaints from either man but that's unnecessary and could be the difference.
Round eight: Chisora's pace seems to be dropping a bit, understandably after how he started. Whyte has been able to get the jab going more and landed some big shots.
That's a 10-8 round to Whyte for me because of the point deduction.
This is close and difficult to score.
Round nine: Another round of pure scrapping! When Chisora lands he lands so, so heavily. The chins on both men are iron, the abuse they are taking is absurd.
Whyte ends the round much stronger and possibly just about takes it.
Round 10: A lot of cheeky, small, scoring shots from Whyte there. The fitness levels are far better in this fight than the one two years ago. Both men have improved wildly.
Chisora still wants to make this a slugfest but he's breathing heavy, so Whyte just sits behind his jab and takes the 10th with more ease than any other round so far.
