Munguia loads up on a left hook and misses wildly. He and Canelo clinch. The referee checks Munguia’s forehead after suspecting a clash of heads.

Canelo slips an uppercut through Munguia’s guard, but the challenger has generally timed his offence and defence well in this round.

Munguia likely needs a finish here. He’s boxing like he knows it, too.

Both men land power shots! Lots of variety from them as well.

Make no mistake, Munguia has stayed in this fight and might have even won more rounds than the judges end up giving him. But Canelo has fought a smart, effective, clinical fight.

Munguia is favouring activity and volume, while Canelo is happy to pick his shots sparsely – preferring power, too.

Good spell from Munguia here! His straight shots look to be bothering Canelo a little. But back comes the champion!
