Wilder vs Fury 2 has been as interesting since the fight ended as it was during it.

The Bronze Bomber now famously claimed that the heavy costume he wore to the ring was the reason he couldn't perform against Fury.

Now, this.

Canelo

It's believed that Canelo Alvarez's next fight will be announced before the end of this week.

Of course with boxing you never believe anything until it's in front of you - but it looks like it will be against Callum Smith on 2nd May in Las Vegas.

The fight would be for the WBA (Super) super-middleweight title.

Imminent fight announcement

A media call was sent out by Matchroom Boxing late last night which read:

'Blockbuster fight announced tomorrow.

'Both fighters and their teams will be present and available for interview, along with Hearn.

'Hearn will also introduce new signing Marc Castro to the media.'

Wilder vs Fury 3 is on

It seems that Shelly Finkel, co-manager of Wilder, has confirmed that the fight will happen.

Speaking to World Boxing News, he said:

"Right now, the clause for a third fight with Tyson Fury has not been activated yet.

"Deontay intends to activate it. He wants the trilogy.

"I can confirm Deontay will exercise his right to fight Tyson Fury next.

“That’s the fight Deontay wants. It will happen next."

Wilder-Fury 2 PPV sales

According to reliable boxing news source Mike Coppinger of The Athletic, the rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury sold in the region of '800,000-850,000' PPVs in the United States alone.

The first matchup between the pair sold 350,000 - a remarkable increase in interest.

Anthony Joshua next fight

The situation with Joshua's next fight has become slightly more complicated over the last five days.

Joshua was set to fight IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev in London, but with Fury winning his fight against Wilder calls for an all-British undisupted bout have been constant.

The situation now comes down to Deontay Wilder, should he exercise his rematch clause (which it looks like he will) then he will fight Fury and Joshua will still take on Pulev.

If he accepts step-aside money, a deal could be arranged to delay the Pulev fight.

Fury injuries

It wasn't just Wilder who had problems, it appears.
