Manny Pacquiao dispatched Keith Thurman in thrilling fashion to capture the WBA super world welterweight title.

The Filipino was back to his best with speed and combinations enough to hand 'One Time' his first loss of his career.

The division is wide open now, with Pacquiao set to face the winner of Errol Spence Jr vs Shawn Porter. Re-live the live action below.

"I’m just blessed tonight, he’s not an easy opponent. I think next year, I have to go back to the Philippines to work (as a senator)," Pacquiao says.

"Yes, I hope I can be there to watch that fight."

"Pacquiao is a truly great champion," says Thurman.

"I wish I had a bit more output to go toe-to-toe.

"It was just behind Manny Pacquiao. I want the rematch.

"It was a blessing and a lesson."

Here we go!

Thurman with the height and reach advantage, and youth, will it be enough?

ROUND 1

Pacquiao out early with plenty of movement and a flurry of shots catches Thurman.

He's tasted the Filipino's power! Thurman fires back, taking centre of the ring.

A jab is backed up by a big right that lands on Manny, the crowd are into this, incredible tension. Thurman with the mean intentions early.

DOWN GOES THURMAN!

Pacquiao floors Thurman in the first, WOW!

Stunning start to this fight. Nobody expected that. It was a flurry of shots and the straight right clipped Thurman on the chin to send him tumbling.

ROUND 2

Thurman on the back foot, desperately searching for a breather.

Round 4

Thurman cannot get out of the way!

The gap in hand speed and work rate is staggering.

Thurman is not running though. It's the body work now that is taking its toll.

Round 5

Thurman is getting beaten up.

He looks sorry as he returns to the corner after the latest assault from Pacquiao leaves his nose dripping with blood.

Sensational from the Pacman!

Round 6

Thurman enjoying some success with the jab.

Then a straight right finds a home and gets Pacquiao's respect.

It's his round, maybe his first.

Round 7

The Senator appears to be feeling his 40-year-old body, with Thurman suddenly buzzing and mimicking the fresher, vibrant Pacquiao that was shot out of a cannon at that  first bell.

Huge counter right hand finds a home for Thurman, some momentum now for the American.

Round 8

Really nice in-and-out from Manny.

Jabs and then he's gone before Thurman can blink.

A swing round though, this one could be tightening up down the stretch.

We've got it to Manny right now: 6-2
