Round 3
Whyte remaining calm and pacing this fight, meaning he is not ramming home his advantage, as Wach is enjoying some moments on the front foot.
Still, this is comfortable for Whyte against such a sluggish operator.
Round 4
It's not a polished performance from Whyte, but his extra weight and short notice here means that was to be expected.
Whyte still allowing Wach to come to him, the power isn't dissuading Wach.
Slow, looping right from Whyte, misses clearly.
Ruiz discusses the night ahead
"It felt good to come here as champion," Ruiz says.
"I'm really blessed. It gives me the extra motivation as champion.
"I'm sure he'll be a lot better, but we made adjustments too. Everybody has a plan until they get hit.
"I'm proud, this is what we fight for, our children and loved ones."
Round 5
Whyte with a nice combination, winging hooks.
But Wach responds with a good uppercut. A nice left hook as well.
Round 6
Shoulder roll again from Whyte.
Very one-paced this, both men look tired.
Round 7
Whyte steps off his back foot and rattles off a couple low hooks to the body.
Wach back to prodding the jab.
Late surge from Whyte, swinging right and then a real effort to rattle off a combination.
Round 8
Whyte's trainer, Mark Tibbs, complaining that Wach has thumbed the Brit in the eye.
We're winding to the end of this one.
Whyte's eye is closing, it's an issue. He probably can't wait for this one to be over, Wach has had some success, a big left to the chin landed.
