From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Your support makes all the difference.Anthony Joshua faces Alexander Povetkin in what the British champion has described as the "second hardest fight" of his professional career. Povetkin, the mandatory challenger to the WBA title, has the potential to become Russia's first ever unified world heavyweight champion, with Joshua's IBF, WBO and IBO straps on the line too.
The 39-year-old has lost just one of his 35 fights, a points defeat to the great Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013. Since then he has won eight consecutive fights, including a knockout victory over David Price on the Joshua-Parker undercard. Ominously, he has never been stopped.
Meanwhile, Joshua will be looking to extend his flawless professional record to 22-0 in his third fight at Wembley.

Joshua is bleeding from the nose - a showcase of Povetkin's (obvious) power.
Well, who'd have expected this? Povetkin appears to be the man on the front foot, taking the fight to his opponent. Joshua is leading with his jab at every opportunity but the Russian appeared to land more significantly. Is the nose affecting him already? 10-9 to Povetkin from what I could tell.
Is Povetkin set to be a massive slip up for Joshua's record? At the moment, it looks seriously possible. As I type this, both men exchange heavy blows. This is shaping up to be a war.
That round goes to Joshua. Both men gave as good as they got but Joshua landed more combinations as the round went on. Every time Povetkin hits him though, he feels it. It lands heavy. That will take its toll.
Povetkin is looking to set up his left hook every time and it's going to take a lot of smart boxing from Joshua to evade it for the entirety of the fight.
That was another close round, it could have gone either way to be honest. Povetkin has a cut to his left eye. How will that impact the rounds as we go on?
Povetkin is roughing his opponent up, getting as close to him as possible. It was a tired round for both men but Povetkin, 11 years Joshua's senior, was on the front foot again. I'd give the fifth to him.
Round 6: Arguably the best of the fight so far.
Povetkin is closing the gap in a serious way here at Wembley and is giving Joshua zero room to breathe. The cut doesn't seem to be stopping his work as he keeps walking forward, even despite taking Joshua's heavy right hand.
Between rounds, Povetkin's team get to work on his cut. Onto round seven.
IT'S ALL OVER AT WEMBLEY!
Alexander Povetkin is stopped after an incredible showing from Joshua in the seventh, who landed a combination, knocked his opponent down, who then got up and took punch after punch before the referee called the fight.
Joshua moves to 22-0-0.
