From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Anthony Joshua faces Alexander Povetkin in what the British champion has described as the "second hardest fight" of his professional career. Povetkin, the mandatory challenger to the WBA title, has the potential to become Russia's first ever unified world heavyweight champion, with Joshua's IBF, WBO and IBO straps on the line too.

The 39-year-old has lost just one of his 35 fights, a points defeat to the great Wladimir Klitschko in October 2013. Since then he has won eight consecutive fights, including a knockout victory over David Price on the Joshua-Parker undercard. Ominously, he has never been stopped.

Meanwhile, Joshua will be looking to extend his flawless professional record to 22-0 in his third fight at Wembley.

We're underway between Campbell and Mendy in this WBC eliminator!

Not much in the first round, Campbell started a lot faster and leading with his jab, while Mendy managed to throw a few combinations midway through but neither men landed anything significant, as is expected from the first round.

Good second round for Mendy, who used his speed and movement to evade Campbell's jab while countering well.

One of the pound-for-pound greats has arrived at Wembley! Far and wide, people have come to watch this (main event).

Whilst we wait for the main event, why not have a read of this?

Tony Bellew believes Anthony Joshua shouldn't be made to fight Povetkin and he explains why:

After five rounds, there's nothing in this one. The crowd is booing, not many people in the stadium too pleased with what they've seen so far.

Luckily for them, they've got the unified heavyweight champion of the world up next.

Joshua, speaking back stage ahead of his fight, is in relaxed mood. He says he 'has to deliver'.

"You have got to keep that hunger. You can always fight like you've got something to lose, but I fight like I've got something to gain.

"You have dreams of fighting the best and of being the best. You have to listen to what the people say, they want it and you've got to deliver. I hope I can perform and give them what they want."

Moving into the 10th round, it seems as though home fighter Luke Campbell is well ahead on the scorecards.

Neither men are likely to go down unless something big happens, so it looks as though we're going to see Campbell avenge his defeat to the Frenchman - he just has to keep doing what he has done so far.
