Donald Trump has told Fox News that he is now ‘immune’ from Covid after his recovery — despite multiple recorded cases around the world of re-infection.

Twitter has flagged a tweet from the president claiming his immunity and that he cannot infect other people. The tech giant has said the tweet violates its terms of service with regard to users posting misinformation about coronavirus.

Meanwhile Dr Fauci has hit out after a clip of him was used in a Trump campaign commercial without his permission.

Trump has given an address to a packed rally outside the White House in his first public appearance since being treated for coronavirus in hospital.

Hundreds turned out for the event but many failed to socially distance - and the president removed his mask to begin speaking shortly after appearing on a balcony.

Covid transmission risk

Trump’s doctor has claimed the president is no longer at risk of transmitting the coronavirus.

He is said to meet the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) criteria for safely discontinuing isolation and that by "currently recognised standards" he is no longer considered a transmission risk.

The memo followed Mr Trump's first public appearance since returning to the White House after being treated for the coronavirus, but it did not spell out at he had tested negative for the virus.

This is a little strange, but apparently Trump had grand ideas about wearing a Superman T-shirt that would be revealed when he ripped open his shirt as he left hospital last week.

According to The New York Times, he suggested he could pretend to be frail when leaving the military medical centre before the big reveal.

The Taliban has denied endorsing Donald Trump after reports emerged claiming the Afghan militant group had said it hoped the US president would be re-elected.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban, was reported to have supported Mr Trump’s bid to remain in the White House and expressed concern over his health.

Donald Trump's doctor at the White House said the president was no longer at risk of transmitting the coronavirus 10 days after he first showed symptoms.

A memo released on Saturday night from White House physician Sean Conley said tests of samples taken from the president show “by currently recognised standards, he is no longer considered a transmission risk” but did not explicitly say whether he had tested negative for the virus.

Joe Biden has said "the only way" he could lose to Donald Trump was through "chicanery", before clarifying that he will accept the election result.

The Democratic US presidential nominee encouraged potential voters at a campaign stop in the must-win battleground of Pennsylvania, telling them “make sure to vote because the only way we lose this is by the chicanery going on relative to polling places”.

South Carolina Democrat raises record $57m

South Carolina Democrat Jaime Harrison has shattered congressional fundraising records, bringing in $57m in the final quarter for his US Senate campaign against Republican incumbent Lindsey Graham.

Harrison's campaign said the total was the largest-ever during a single three-month period by any Senate candidate. That tops the $38m raised by Democrat Beto O'Rourke in 2018.

Last month, Graham made a public plea for fundraising to help him keep up with Harrison, saying on Fox News that he was "getting killed financially" by Harrison.

Pennsylvania

Both the Republicans and the Democrats are increasingly focused on the pivotal – and potentially messy – role that Pennsylvania could play in deciding the outcome of the presidential race.

Each side now sees the state, with 20 electoral college votes, as a must-win prize on the path to the 270 needed to win the White House, according to Democratic and Republican strategists.
