Trump boasts of Joe Rogan endorsement while Megyn Kelly insults Harris family at rally: Election live updates

1. The town hall opened with Elon saying he would take questions.

4. Elon scratches that plan and tells everyone who wanted to talk to him to … just listen to his Rogan podcast instead.

William Hague, the former leader of Britain’s Conservative Party, foreign secretary and protégé of Margaret Thatcher has denounced Donald Trump, saying “we should all be Democrats”.

He wrote in The Times:

It matters what we think about the election in America — to our own political ideas and to the security of our allies. We knew Reagan wasn’t following the details, but we also knew he was generous to opponents and steadfast for freedom. In words also applied to Franklin D Roosevelt, he was a “second-class intellect with a first-class temperament”. That would never be a description of Trump. He is a serious danger. If Reagan stood for “morning in America”, Trump is the approach of midnight. Whatever our past affiliations, we should all be Democrats.

Vice President Kamala Harris gave an energetic 10-minute speech to the crowd gathered to see her in Pittsburgh this evening, before heading for her final rally in Philadelphia later tonight.

There were big cheers at the Trump rally in Pittsburgh this evening as the former president announced that he has the endorsement of Joe Rogan.

Following his interview with Elon Musk today, Joe Rogan has endorsed Donald Trump.

He wrote on X: “The great and powerful Elon Musk. If it wasn't for him we'd be fucked. He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way.

“For the record, yes, that's an endorsement of Trump.”

Donald Trump made the bizarre claim that the Harris campaign had pulled out of North Carolina the day before the Election.

The former president has held four rallies in the state in the past day in an effort to stave off a Democratic win in a state he won twice.
