Your support makes all the difference.Marjorie Taylor Greene today faced an administrative judge at a hearing that could see the Georgia Republican banned from public office because of her alleged support for the 6 January insurrection at the US Capitol.
The congresswoman was questioned about the 2021 Capitol riot by lawyer Ron Fein, representing a group of voters who filed a challenge with the Georgia secretary of state’s office alleging that Ms Greene helped facilitate the attack that ultimately sought to upend Congress’ certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election victory.
They say that her behaviour violates a clause in the US Constitution’s 14th Amendment and makes her ineligible to run for reelection.
Among other things, the case against the congresswoman hinges on her repeated use of a “codeword” – specifically, repeated references to the year 1776 – which the lawyers say encouraged the rioters who descended on the Capitol.
For her part, Ms Greene is appealing a federal judge's ruling allowing a challenge to her eligibility to run for reelection to proceed and in the hour leading up to her hearing, the pro-Trump lawmaker took to Twitter to urge her fellow Republicans to “protect election integrity”.
Rep Greene is asked if she believes Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is a traitor to the country.
She replies: “I’m not answering that question. It’s speculation. It’s hypothetical.”
Counsel quotes Ms Greene saying: “She’s a traitor to our country. She’s guilty of treason. She took an oath to protect the American citizens. She gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That’s what treason is.”
Rep Greene is asked if she liked a post that said a bullet to the head would be a quicker way to remove Nancy Pelosi.
She says many people manage her social media accounts and would not know who liked the tweet.
Greene does not recall or remember many of the posts, meetings, and people she is asked about.
This video from 2019 was played to the court showing Ms Greene encouraging people to come to a protest in Washington, DC.
“When we rise up, we can end all of this. We can end it. We can do it peacefully, we can. I hope it doesn’t, we don’t have to do it the other way. I hope not. But we should feel like we will, if we have to,” she says.
Rep Greene accused counsel of having more conspiracy theories than QAnon.
She was then asked about her belief in QAnon.
“No, I did not say I believe in QAnon,” she responds.
Court has adjourned for lunch, with the plaintiff’s lawyers indicating they have another hour of questions to go.

A video of Marjorie Taylor Greene resurfaced online a few months ago, in which the controversial Republican celebrated a “great planning session” about an “objection” to Joe Biden’s victory on 6 January.
In the clip, the Georgia representative said: “We had a great planning session for our January 6 objection. We aren’t going to let this election be stolen by Joe Biden and the Democrats. President Trump won by a landslide.”
The reposted video comes after one of the protest organisers told Rolling Stone that they had allegedly met with Greene ahead of the attack on the US Capitol.

CNN reporter pushes back on Greene criticism
CNN reporter Andrew Kaczynski has pushed back on Rep Greene knocking a report in which she said Nancy Pelosi was guilty of treason and that it was a crime punishable by death.
He noted that the article in question was based on quotes from her own videos that they saved before she deleted them.
