The husband of LA-based model and aspiring actress Christy Giles has paid tribute to her on Instagram after she was allegedly found outside a Los Angeles hospital at the weekend.

Giles, who died of a suspected drug overdose, was allegedly found dumped outside a Los Angeles hospital following a night out with friends. Her family blame a group of masked men.

A friend, Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, was allegedly dumped at another hospital two hours later and remains in critical care.

Giles’s husband, Jan Cilliers, told his Instagram followers that he could not believe what had happened, and that she was “taken from us. From me. How can this world be so cruel. How can people be so evil.”

He continued by describing the 24-year-old as “the light of my sky. Guiding stars of my journey. The twinkle in my eye. The tongue in my ear”, and said: “My heart is shattered.”

Police have said that it appears Giles’s death was due to a possible overdose that turned fatal.

Women report ‘similar’ experiences to Christy Giles

A Gofundme page says numerous women are reporting alarmingly similar experiences to that of Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola.

Created by organiser Carly Amos and Mr Cillers, the page says: “Since Saturday we’ve all received a number of messages from other females who have eerily similar stories, except the only difference between them & Christy and Hilda, is they survived.”

Family believe women were drugged or tied up

The mother of Christy Giles has said her daughter and friend must have been held against their will.

“The only way that these men would have kept my daughter and Hilda for over 10 hours would be by giving them drugs, maybe tying them up,” Dusty Giles told The Sun.

“The girls were obviously not speaking out loud in front of these guys, they were texting each other. I believe they drugged them to keep them and I believe they probably raped them. If it was an accidental overdose, why not call 911?”

She added: “Why do you wait 10 hours until she is dead to fling her on a sidewalk, remove your license plates, obscure your face?”

Dusty Giles told the Daily Mail her daughter had “strong family roots.”

Speaking about Ms Giles’ husband, she added: “They had plans on a family, they wanted children, they were looking at buying and moving to the suburbs so that they could have a yard and room to have children. This was not a flighty girl.”

Police have identified masked men

Jan Cilliers has told The Independent that police have identified the masked men who dumped Christy Giles’ body outside a hospital on Saturday.

“The bandanna guys, the police have already spoken to them, they know they were partying with the girls, and that they dropped off the girls as soon as they overdosed,” he said.

He added: “Does that mean Christy overdosed at 5pm then they took her to the ER, then the other girl stayed back at the apartment and did drugs and overdosed later? That doesn’t make any sense.”

Christy Giles was trying to ‘protect her friend’

Christy Giles was concerned for her friend’s safety, and stayed at the West LA apartment to protect her, says Ms Giles husband.

Jan Cilliers told The Independent’s Graeme Massie: “Christy was trying to leave there at 5.30am, she was worried for her safety and for her friend’s safety. The only reason she was still there in the first place was that she did not want to leave her friend alone.”

He added: “She would never leave a girlfriend behind, you know, the worst thing she would want ... was for something like this to happen to her girlfriend, and unfortunately it happened to both of them.”

The couple, who had been married for two years, went on their first date on Valentine’s Day 2019 after meeting at a London art gallery. They got married just a matter of months later.

He told The Independent: “This is all heartbreaking. Our relationship was the most fairytale relationship you could possibly imagine. She was an incredible woman.”

GoFundMe to fund investigation reaches almost $100,000

The fundraiser has now received 907 donations worth $98, 235.

“On Saturday November 13th Christy & her friend Hilda were allegedly drugged. Twelve hours later three men in an all black, masked in bandanas; with license plates removed, dropped Christy off on the sidewalk of a hospital. Christy was already lifeless and pronounced dead at the scene. Two hours later the same vehicle with two masked men dropped her friend, Hilda off at a different hospital,” the GoFundMe page states.

“Hilda is currently in critical condition and fighting for her life. This story is by no means unique. Since Saturday we’ve all received a number of messages from other females who have eerily similar stories, except the only difference between them & Christy and Hilda, is they survived.”

‘Let’s get out of here'

ICYMI: The final text sent by Christy Giles to her friend Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, was a chilling message to tell her she thought the pair should leave.

Obtained by Ms Giles’ husband from their iCloud account, the message said: “Let’s get out of here,” along with a wide-eyes emoji.

Sent at 5.30am from a West LA apartment, the message has raised questions as to why the women were communicating over text rather than openly in front of the men whose apartment they were at.
