Unearthed and broadcast by The Daily Show, the 1994 clip features Trump and his former wife Marla Maples on the old television series Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.
When asked by the presenter, Robin Leach, which characteristics his daughter Tiffany took from her parents, the Republican presidential hopeful considered whether his daughter would inherit her mother’s chest.
“Well, I think that she’s got a lot of Marla. She’s a really beautiful baby—and she’s got Marla’s legs,” said the 69-year-old.
“We don’t know whether she’s got this part yet [gestures towards his chest area and mimes the shape of breasts], but time will tell”.
Maples is an American actress and TV personality who was married to Trump between 1993 and 1999. They had one daughter together, Tiffany, who is now 22.
The exchange was branded “the most disturbingly sexist thing he has ever said” by The Daily Beast, while a number of outlets accused him of objectifying his daughter.
This is not the first time the mogul-turned-politico has stirred controversy with remarks about his daughters. In September of last year, he came under fire for comments about his other daughter, Ivanka Trump.
“Yeah, she’s really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father,” Trump remarked in an interview with Rolling Stone.
The New York-born politician also said: “If Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I would be dating her”, in a 2006 episode of The View.
