Beyoncé has sent Katy Perry a gift in celebration of her newborn daughter, offering the singer and her fiancé Orlando Bloom congratulations on their “new addition”.

Last week, it was reported that Perry had given birth to her first child with Bloom, a baby girl named Daisy Dove Bloom.

The announcement was made on behalf of the couple by Unicef, the United Children’s Fund, for which the couple are both Goodwill Ambassadors.

Perry and Bloom, who announced their engagement in February last year, requested that members of the public donate towards the organisation in honour of their daughter’s birth.

On Wednesday 2 September, Perry revealed on her Instagram Story that fellow singer Beyoncé had sent her an ornate bouquet of flowers to mark Daisy’s arrival.

The bouquet featured a variety of white flowers, including roses, with a card that read: “Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Beyoncé.”

Perry tagged her peer in her Instagram Story post, writing: “Ily [I love you] Beyoncé.”

The bouquet came from Mark’s Garden, a luxury floral and event design company based in Los Angeles.

The most expensive bouquet of flowers currently available on the Mark’s Garden website costs a hefty $575 (£432).

Beyoncé was not the only household name to shower Perry and Bloom with gifts following the birth of their daughter.

In another post shared on her Instagram Story, Perry revealed that singer Lionel Richie and his partner Lisa Parigi sent Daisy an adorable unicorn robe, complete with a gold horn on the top.

“Thank you uncle @lionelrichie and aunti @lisaparigi_,” Perry said.

Days after giving birth, Perry shared a postpartum selfie on Instagram that showed her wearing a maternity bra and underwear.

The singer joked about what she was wearing for the MTV VMAs, which took place on Sunday 30 August.

“Hair and makeup by: @exhaustion,” the 35-year-old said, tagging Medela for her nude bra and Frida Mom for her grey pants.
