From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Harry Potter actor Tom Felton has posted a photograph of himself teaching friend and former co-star Emma Watson how to play the guitar.
On Monday, the actor posted a photograph of himself on Instagram in his pyjamas teaching his former co-star how to play the instrument.
Watson, who met Felton on the set of the fantasy film in 2000, is wearing a pair of matching stripey pink and white pyjamas in the photo while placing her hands on the guitar’s strings.
“Quick learner x,” the 31-year-old star captioned the sweet snap, which was taken in South Africa.
In response to the photo, several of the pair’s fans have taken to the comments section to share their glee at the sweet reunion.
“BRAD & GAGA, make room,” one user shared in the comment section, referring to the fictional romance between Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga‘s characters in the Oscar-winning 2018 film, A Star Is Born.
In the film, Cooper’s character Jackson Maine falls in love with songwriter Ally (played by Gaga) and helps her forge a music career.
Another fan wrote: “When do the tix come on sale? [sic]”
“Blessing the rains down in Africa,” added another, playing tribute to Toto’s hit song “Africa”.
Watson and Felton regularly post photos from their meet ups on Instagram, much to the delight of their fans.
In February, the UN Women’s Ambassador shared a black-and-white image on the social media platform, taken by Felton, of herself sitting in car. “Friends capture you best,” she captioned the photo.
Months earlier, the 29-year-old posted a photo of herself and her friend sitting on the beach together and a video of him riding a scooter along a beachfront.
Earlier this month, Watson posted a throwback photograph on social media of herself with J.K. Rowling to celebrate the author’s 54th birthday.
The star shared a photograph on Twitter and Facebook of herself dressed as the comic book character Wonder Woman alongside Rowling and Harry Potter actor Evanna Lynch.
In the image, Rowling – who shares the same birthday as the fictional protagonist Harry Potter she wrote about in her internationally successful literary series of the same name – wears a black halter neck dress and prosthetic make-up with a fake horn.
Meanwhile, Lynch – who stars as Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter film franchise – sports a green dress with spaghetti straps and wearing feline-inspired make-up.
“Sexy and scary! You smashed this,” Watson captioned the photo of the trio. “All the love to you @jk_rowling. Happy Birthday!!!! Extra points to @Evy_Lynch for being the most perfect cat [sic].”
