From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. This week some fashion magazines released their most important and biggest issue of the year.
Why most important? September is the January of fashion, is the month in which editorials officially say farewell to summer and welcome autumn. This year, British Vogue, for example, released its biggest issue yet of 462 pages, with various shoots featuring all of the autumn/winter 2014 collections. British supermodel Cara Delevingne is photographed by fashion and royalty photographer Mario Testino to front the cover.
In 2011 the documentary September Issue revealed the behind the scenes of producing this edition, portraying legendary American Vogue editor Anna Wintour as the one to fear, but the one that achieves perfection.
This month the magazine stands look heavy packed with thick magazines and the most exciting content.
Other key September issue covers include emerging model and Kardashian sister, Kendall Jenner, 18, who after fronting Love magazine's biannual issue, scored two covers of Teen Vogue, one in which she appears wearing a big baby blue hat.
Pop star Lady Gaga posed with her French bulldog puppy, Asia, in a pink Chanel-esque outfit for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. And Kate Upton was photographed by Matt Jones for the cover of British Elle.
The American Vogue, edited by Mrs Wintour, is one of the most awaited issues and is yet to come out this month.
