While Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Ladybird took home some of the most coveted awards of the night, Seth Meyers made headlines for taking swipes at Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey in light of the myriad of sexual assault allegations that have been sweeping through Hollywood in recent months.
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey led the way in terms of women speaking up about the industry's responsibility to combat sexual assault with a lengthy speech after she accepted the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille award.
As the first in a string of high-profile award ceremonies, the Globes are widely-considered to foreshadow the films that will win big at the Academy Awards in March.
However, with almost every nominee and guest wearing black in protest of sexual misconduct, this year's ceremony was no less significant sartorially than it was cinematically.
While Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Gyllenhaal kept it simple in strapless custom-made gowns, Kate Hudson and Kendall Jenner were just some of the stars to shun tradition in the place of billowing feathered skirting and risqué couture cuts.
Regardless of who wore what, the underlining sartorial statement at this year's award ceremonies is set to be solidarity above all else.
