From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Black Friday may be an American tradition, the post-Thanksgiving retail phenomenon that marks the beginning of Christmas, but British stores are also getting on the price-slashing act.

Fashion and beauty shops joined the shopping frenzy, offering deals across a wide variety of products and brands.

We’ve already put together the best fashion deals in the UK for you, but here are the most tempting offers in the beauty world, including electrical beauty, make-up and perfumes for all the bargain hunters out there.

Boots, for example, is stocking the bestselling Babyliss’ hair curler marked down from £119.99 to £99.99, and a Benefit make-up set from £54 to £24.50.

Also, Bronnley, which holds a royal warrant, is offering 25% off its crafted toiletries and both the The Perfume Shop and The Fragrance Shop will have discounts across its designer scents.
