From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Chrissy Teigen has shared how her daughter, Luna, responded to the family receiving the ashes of baby Jack, who was stillborn last month.

On Instagram, the mother-of-two posted a clip of a teddy bear alongside a delicate box topped with a small crisped snack.

In the same post, Teigen shared a second video of her four-year-old daughter, Luna, placing the soft toy next to the box for her mother.

Luna is seen speaking to the box and introducing herself.

“This is the cutest, most beautiful thing I've ever seen,” the 34-year-old says in he video.

"We just got baby Jack’s ashes back. They’re in here for now with some blessed holy Thai string and Luna put a little therapy bear around him.

“The best part is I came down and she gave him a piece of her favorite snack - a tiny piece of Pirate's Booty. I can't... I don't know, she's amazing.”

In the caption, Teigen explained how she and her husband, John Legend, are very open about grief with their two children, Luna, and Miles, two.

“I’m just thinking a lot about Jack today,” she wrote.

"Our house is very open about life, death, grief, everything really.  We try to explain things well and answer every question imaginable in a beautiful, spiritual but literal way.

“I know this is a weird post but I just wanted to share these to always remember my incredibly empathetic little mini. life is infinitely better with her in it. I miss u, Jack. we miss you a lot.”

Teigen’s post has garnered more than 999,000 likes and thousands of comments from friends, followers, and fellow celebrities.

“Precious Luna,” commented Kris Jenner, while Paris Hilton commented with an emoji with hearts for eyes.

In October, Teigen revealed that she and Legend had lost their son, Jack.

Writing on Instagram, the former model explained she had suffered from extensive bleeding during her pregnancy.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,” she wrote in a caption beneath photographs of herself in hospital.

“On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it,” she added.
