Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell have announced they are expecting a baby girl.

The wildlife conservationists, who revealed last month that they are expecting their first child, shared the baby’s gender with their Instagram followers on Tuesday.

“Baby girl, you are our world,” Irwin captioned a photo showing her and Powell posing among pink flowers with the baby’s sonogram and a tortoise. “Our beautiful daughter is now about the same size as a hatchling Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be.

“We can’t wait for her arrival next year.”

In the comments, Irwin’s brother Robert expressed his excitement over the baby’s arrival, writing: “I can’t wait to meet my niece.”

Powell also shared his own tribute to the couple’s unborn daughter on his Instagram.

Sharing the same photo, the 23-year-old wrote: “Our little girl and my beautiful wife are my entire world.

“I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be.”

In August, Irwin, the daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin, announced she was pregnant with an Instagram photo of herself and Powell holding a baby-sized Australia Zoo uniform.

“Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021,” the 22-year-old wrote, adding that she and her husband “couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.”

The couple married at the Irwin’s Australia Zoo on 25 March.
