F1 Singapore GP LIVE: Race result as Lando Norris wins ahead of Max Verstappen

Wow. Lando needs to keep his cool in the heat of Singapore here!

He taps the wall at turn 10 but continues all fine - another lucky escape! He must be careful... no risks with a 25-second lead!

Russell: “It’s like a sauna in here.” It’s getting tough now for the drivers!

Carbon copy move from Oscar Piastri, who has more pace than George Russell and is now up to third!

Max Verstappen is 18 seconds up the road - can Piastri catch him?!

Incidentally, we haven’t had a safety car for eight races now... but every Singapore Grand Prix has had a safety car! One of these streaks will fall today!

With more grip and speed, Piastri overtakes Hamilton around the outside - he’s up to fourth!

Up next for the Australian? George Russell, three seconds down the road.

Charles Leclerc also makes up a spot, up to 7th with a pass on Fernando Alonso!

In comes the Aussie then, and he comes out in fifth - on new hard tyres and just one second behind Lewis Hamilton, who came in about 25 laps ago!

So... how many places can Piastri make up? Can he get past Russell and Hamilton ahead of him, and maybe even Verstappen?

As you were then, with Norris 22 seconds ahead of Verstappen in second.

A rapid 2.2 second stop for the Ferrari and Leclerc gets out ahead of Nico Hulkenberg, dropping from fourth to eighth.

Piastri: “It’s getting very tricky now.”

Surely only a matter of time before McLaren get their man in?

Out in front, Lando Norris is 13 seconds clear of Piastri, who in turn is nine seconds ahead of Max Verstappen.

“I just don’t get it, why did we let him undercut us by so far, it’s so stupid!”

That was Verstappen’s reaction to coming out behind Leclerc, but what he doesn’t know is that it’s not really for track position - given Leclerc hasn’t pitted!

So, current top-10: Norris, Piastri (not pitted), Verstappen, Leclerc (not pitted), Russell, Hamilton, Tsunoda, Sainz, Alonso, Hulkenberg

Norris pits and they opt not to change the front wing, obviously any damage isn’t significant! Incidentally, replays of what happened shows Norris having a close shave with the wall at turn 14, just avoiding significant contact! A lucky escape!

He comes back out in first place, three seconds ahead of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri!

Verstappen, meanwhile, is 18 seconds behind Piastri.

When will the Aussie pit then? He’s the only one left of the original top-five yet to pit...

Verstappen comes in then, switches to hards with a three second stop!

Norris, meanwhile, saying he has front wing damage. He has enough of a lead for the time required (about 12 seconds) to change wings!

Verstappen comes out just behind Charles Leclerc in fourth, it was very tight on pit exit!

When will Lando respond then?

Verstappen: “Rears are struggling now.”

Engineer: “Shouldn’t be too long now.”

Running his own race at the moment is Verstappen - 23 seconds behind Norris but 12 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri, with George Russell pitting from third!

Hamilton not happy with this strategy... insisting he has too many laps to complete on the hard tyre!

He makes a move on Tsunoda but breaks too late! “Something is wrong with this car.”
