Now that you’ve opened your presents, eaten Christmas lunch (plus all the leftovers in the evening), drunk all the sherry and are settled in for a day on the sofa, turn your attention to one of the biggest shopping events of the year: the Boxing Day sales.

It’s often one of the best times to bag yourself a bargain, so we’re here to make sure you don’t miss out on great offers across clothes, beauty, tech, toys, home appliances and more.

While long queues in the early hours of the morning outside high street stores are usually synonymous with the sales at this time of year, recently the day has become more of an online shopping event with big-name brands slashing prices on its end of year stock.

The 2020 sale is set to be bigger than ever after a boom in online shopping during the coronavirus lockdown when we were unable to get to the shops. Due to the ongoing pandemic, in-store shopping will not look the same this year as different lockdown measures and tier restrictions across the country mean many people will continue to shop from the comfort of their sofa.

Throughout the day, we’ll be bringing you the best deals from big-name brands including Apple, Amazon, Currys PC World and Simba. We’ve done the hard work for you so you can snap up all the biggest offers from high-street stalwarts John Lewis, Debenhams, Habitat, Boots and many more.

So whether you’re looking for a Fitbit, Nintendo Switch Lite or Dyson vacuum cleaner, follow our live blog for the latest updates and hottest deals.

Our IndyBest team has hand-picked every deal featured here. We may earn some commission from the links in this article, but our selections have been made independently and without bias. This revenue helps to fund journalism across The Independent.

Boxing Day in Wales is looking very different this year

While Boxing Day is usually synonymous with long queues outside high-street shops, lots of us will be shopping from our homes this year. Last week, First Minister Mark Drakeford announced a national lockdown for Wales with all non-essential shops ending trading on Christmas Eve and an alert level four lockdown due to start on 28 December.

This highest level of coronavirus restrictions will see hospitality, non-essential retail, fitness facilities and more close in order to tackle rising infection rates. Meanwhile, much of England including London and the South East also remain under tier 4 restrictions.

So as many of us stay at home, unable to get to the shops, we will continue bringing you the best deals and savings throughout the sales to be delivered straight to your door.
