Black Friday 2024 – live: Latest news and early deals
Retailers are kicking off early, with deals on everything from AirPods to skincare products
The biggest sale of the year is still a few weeks away but early Black Friday offers have already started dropping across major retailers. To help you spot the best deals, our Black Friday liveblog is tracking the latest discounts on everything from tech, TVs and laptops to beauty, clothing, mattresses and home appliances.
Whether you’re shopping for a Ninja air fryer, a Simba mattress, the Apple Airpods or anything in between – the likes of Samsung, Zara, Lookfantastic and Amazon are dropping prices across entire ranges of products.
With discounts popping up earlier every year, we’re expecting even more brands to launch their Black Friday events ahead of the official sale dates (29 November to 2 December). Boots, Argos, Currys, Dyson and John Lewis have all kicked off proceedings with what many of them are calling their biggest Black Friday sales ever. Elsewhere, hundreds of deals are arriving across pretty much every category you can think of.
We’ve been covering the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales for years here at IndyBest, so, we know how to spot a good deal from a dud. If it’s got a decent discount (and it’s worth your money), you’ll find it here.

Save 30% on The Inkey List at Lookfantastic
Before we get too focused on Black Friday tech deals, let’s take a look at what’s happening over in the beauty section. Here’s a neat little saving on a popular product our tester described as leaving their “lips quenched like nothing else”.
The Inkey List tripeptide plumping lip balm: Was £11, now £7.70, Lookfantastic.com
Using a combination of hyaluronic acid and unique ‘ultra filling spheres’, this plumping lip balm leaves your pout looking smoother, fuller and bouncy enough to deflect small-to-medium-sized incoming projectiles. Now with 30 per cent off, you can take it home in one (or all) of its four shades.
Want even more mobile phone deals?
If the iPhone 16 deal below isn’t right for you, we’ve got even more discounts in our full guide to Black Friday phone deals. It includes a contract offer on the Samsung Galaxy S24, one of the best Android phones of the year.

Whether you’re upgrading your contract or going SIM-free, these are the top deals to shop in the sale
Get £20 off the iPhone 16 at Giffgaff
This £20 discount on the iPhone 16 might not seem like much, but deals on the newest iPhone are rare and sell out fast. You’ll find the offer in Giffgaff’s Black Friday sale, which kicked off earlier this week.
For the avoidance of doubt: the budget network lists this as a £50 discount, but only because Giffgaff usually sells the iPhone 16 for £30 more than its £799 RRP.
iPhone 16: Was £799, now £779, giffgaff.com
This year’s base iPhone 16 gets the new A18 chip rather than using the chip from last year’s Pro phones, giving it speedy all-round performance. It comes in £200 cheaper than the iPhone 16 Pro by ditching the more expensive phone’s telephoto lens and using a lower quality 60Hz display. If you don’t think you’ll notice those differences, the iPhone 16 is the phone for you.
Looking for more headphone deals?
We have an entire Black Friday deals page dedicated to headphones and earphones, where you’ll find the Sony WH-1000XM5 we just mentioned alongside a whole lot more.

We’re rounding up the best early discounts on headphones from Bose, Apple AirPods, Sony and more
The Sony WH-1000XM5 has £100 off at Amazon
This isn’t technically a Black Friday deal, but we’re not going to ignore it on a technicality: our pick of the best wireless headphones has almost 30 per cent off at Amazon.
You can have any colour you like, so long as it’s silver. Thankfully, Sony’s silver colourway looks great – it reminds us of the colour of every PC in the 90s.
Sony WH-1000XM5 wireless headphones: Was £379, now £274, Amazon.co.uk
Our tester was blown away by these new Sony headphones, impressed with their noise-cancelling abilities and crystal clarity. They said: “whether it’s orchestral music, rap, podcasts or your favourite pop tracks, the WH-1000XM5 handles it all with poise and gumption, and it never misses a beat”.
Get £210 off the Lego Millennium Falcon
Let’s turn our attention to Argos, which has never quite been the same ever since they got rid of those massive catalogues. In any case the retailer is already shin-deep in Black Friday deals, with discounts to be found across its vast range of products.
You’ll find the very best Argos deals in our full guide, but here’s one that would make a great Christmas gift for a Star Wars fan who’s been exceptionally good this year.
Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon collector series set: Was £735, now £525, Argos.co.uk
This 7,541-piece collector’s item is reduced by a whopping £210 for Black Friday. The Lego Star Wars Millennium Falcon set features a cockpit with enough room for a tiny Han Solo and Chewie, plus the dealer’s choice of C-3PO, Leia and three other characters from the newer films whose names nobody can remember.
Here’s £300 off the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
We’re also seeing early Black Friday deals over at Samsung’s official storefront, where the tech giant is dropping prices on everything from phones to fridges.
Here’s our full guide to the best Black Friday Samsung deals, but we want to highlight this great offer on the newest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: Was £1,799, now £1,499, Samsung.com
Samsung’s best foldable gets a massive £300 discount for Black Friday, bringing the price of the 256GB version down to £1,499. Trade in your existing phone and Samsung will offer you up to £670 for your old handset too. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 features in our round-up of the best folding phones, where our tester rates it for its premium design and fast performance.
AO Black Friday deals are live
Electrical retailer AO kicked off its Black Friday deals just a few minutes ago, with hundreds of discounts now available across its range of TVs, beauty products, home appliances and more.
We’ve spotted a £70 discount on the Ninja foodi dual zone air fryer, and that’s just for starters.
Ninja foodi dual zone air fryer: Was £199, now £129, AO.com
With a generous 7.6l capacity, this air fryer has enough room for absolutely loads of chips. It has the full suite of features you’d expect: straightforward timers telling you when to add food, shake things up and take things out; automatic switch-off; and two cooking zones, so everything finishes at the same time. It’s also dishwasher friendly, so it doesn’t turn into an uncleanable grease trap over time.
Early Black Friday deals at Boots
Let’s kick things off by taking a look at those eager retailers who just couldn’t hang around until 29 November to start dropping their Black Friday deals.
First up is high-street pharmacy Boots, historic purveyor of cosmetics, electric toothbrushes, cheap meal deals and hangover cures.
You’ll find a full set of early discounts in our full Boots guide, but here’s a top deal on the Oral-B iO8 toothbrush.
Oral-B iO8 electric toothbrush: Was £450, now £140, Boots.com
If you’ve been waiting to upgrade to the Oral-B iO series, here’s your best offer: a £310 discount on the Oral-B iO8 electric toothbrush. In our guide to the best electric toothbrushes, our expert put the newer iO9 iteration to the test, praising its brushing technology (which also features in the iO 8) and how the “mechanical action of the fast-moving brush can more easily get into those hard-to-reach areas”.
Good morning shoppers!

And who can blame them? We’re all excited. Excited for deals.
