Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The Simpsons will not be available on Disney+ in the UK and will instead remain on Sky, it has been confirmed.

Managing Director of Content Zai Bennett was interviewed on Radio 5 Live, where he said the long-running animated series will only be available to view on Sky in the UK for the forseeable future.

Simpsons is on Sky – absolutely,” interviewer Scott Bryan reports Bennett as telling the radio station on Monday (24 February).

Discussing how the launch of Disney’s new streaming service will affect Sky, Bennett added: “For the immediate term – for the next year or so – our customers will not notice any difference at all to what they have got.”

This suggests that Disney films, including Marvel Cinematic Universe and Pixar releases, will remain on Sky until 2021.

Potential subscribers to Disney+ in the UK have been reacting with fury after discovering that the series will not be a part of the streaming service’s available content when it launches on 24 March.

The latest announcement stated: “Disney+ offers fans of all ages a new way to experience the unparallelled content from the company’s iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.”
