With Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist having all been cancelled, there’s seemingly no doubt that Marvel’s other Netflix series, The Punisher and Jessica Jones, will suffer the same fate.

Deborah Ann Woll – who has appeared as Karen Page in Daredevil and The Defenders – has confirmed a third season of The Punisher likely will not happen.

“Most likely the final appearance of me playing Karen Page will be in The Punisher season two,” the actor wrote on Instagram.

“I miss her very much. Be sure to watch!! Jon Bernthal is amazing in it! So is everybody!”

She finished the message by saying she hopes “it gets to continue for a third season” with a fingers crossed emoji.

The odds are not in The Punisher’s favour. Following the second seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist, as well as the third season of Daredevil, all three shows were cancelled by Netflix.

While the decision seemed to be linked to Disney – who own Marvel studios – starting their own streaming service, reports have since indicated that Netflix were the one’s to cut ties.

Before then, the second season of The Punisher starts streaming on Netflix on the 18 January.
