From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

It's crunch time for the Love Island contestants as producers continue to throw everything they possibly can at the couples to see who has the staying power ahead of next week's live final.

First was the lie detector tests which almost drove a wedge in between the nation's favourite, Jack and Dani, as well as a new game entirely in which the islanders were forced to guess what the general public thought of them which led to some pretty savage results. Tonight's episode saw put the contestants' parental skills put to the test as producers delivered fake babies to each couple with... erm... unique results.

New Jack and Laura ended up winning bu the British public quickly cut their celebrations short by dumping them from the villa just one week before the final episode.

Ther other two couples in the bottom three were Wes/Megan and Josh/Kaz meaning the remaining three Jack/Dani, Laura/Paul and Alex/Alexandra are surely in line to win the £50,000 cash prize next week.

Re-live all the action as it happened below.

Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2. The final will air next Monday (30 July)

In case you were worried, Jack and Dani are fine again - but we can all agree, they're averaging about one argument per month which is pretty good going.

↵Not that they needed to argue over the lie detector test - it's basically been proven to be a load of old cobblers.

...Oh yeah, for those holding out for that Dany Dyer appearance? It doesn't look like it's happening

↵It's preview time! If you have a headache, best turn the sound down.
