From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Another dramatic episode of Love Island saw both Amy and Amber in tears after confronting Curtis and Michael about their bad behaviour.
After taking some time to cool off, Amy confronted Curtis for betraying her, which led to one of the most epic put-downs of the show ("You're the perfect guy, aren't you? No you're f***ing not"), while Amber tried to have a reasonable conversation with Michael only to realise he is, in fact, a four-year-old who just got caught raiding the cookie jar.
Meanwhile Anna is starting to look as though she seriously regrets her decision to dump Jordan in favour of basketball player Ovie. And after an entire episode of no interactions other than the occasional glare, Amber gets a text revealing she has to have a proper talk with Joanna (Michael's new partner) over a glass of wine. We'll have to wait until the next episode to find out how that goes.

Love Island continues on 5 July at 9pm on ITV2
"You've done yourself proud." Wow, coming from Danny, that means... nothing.
"I've made myself look like an utter... no, you've made me look like an utter mug." A very accurate correction from Amy towards Curtis.
Seeing Dani Dyer, even in this godawful advert, is making me miss Love Island 2018.
Love Island 2019: Amy left heartbroken after hearing what Curtis got up to while she was away
"The guy you fell in love with wasn't real, he was an illusion. Doesn't exist." Ahh, that'll cheer her up.
My colleague Roisin's prediction, place your bets on this now because she has been right before: "Anna wants to get back with Jordan, and Ovie will get with Amber."
