UPDATE: Unfortunately, the rumour that Angela Lansbury would be appearing in season seven of Game of Thrones has been proven false.

The actors’ team told EW the report - originally written by German tabloid Bild - was not true. They have yet to reply to our request for comment.

ORIGINAL: Filming has begun on season seven of Game of Thrones, various cast members having been spotted in Northern Ireland and various set locations being announced.

According to the German new site Bild, another esteemed British actor will feature in the HBO show: Angela Lansbury.

Best known for her roles in Murder, She Wrote, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, as well as voicing Mrs. Potts in Beaty and the Beast, Lansbury is said to be filming a minor cameo role that will feature across two of the season’s seven episodes. She will be on set for just four days.

HBO has yet to confirm whether Lansbury has a role in the show, while her publicist has yet to return our request for comment.

Lansbury is the second British actor to be linked to Game of Thrones within the last week, Harry Potter and Moulin Rouge!’s Jim Broadbent also reportedly attached to the show.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Spanish beach Muriola Beach, in Barrika, will feature in the show, fans believing it will act as Daenerys' Westeros landing point.

Season seven will be different to previous seasons for a number of reasons, primarily due to its shorter length - running for just seven episodes instead of ten - and later release date.

The list of directors working on season seven has also been revealed, with numerous alumni returning to the show. Meanwhile, cast members Maisie Williams and Kit Harrington have been talking about their characters futures.
