A Friends reunion special is reportedly in the works at HBO Max, with all six stars in talks to come back.

Negotiations are currently underway for an unscripted programme that would reunite lead actors Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer with series creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

A source told the publication that the reunion special is not a done deal and agreements with cast and creators are not completed.

The Independent has contacted HBO Max for comment.

News of the potential reunion special arrives as Friends celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Aniston recently said the Friends team were “working on something” and the show’s stars have been posting pictures of themselves reunited on social media, sparking rumours of a reunion.

Friends originally ran for 236 episodes and 10 seasons between 1994 and 2004.
