From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Jennifer Aniston’s first Instagram post – a selfie with her fellow Friends stars – forced the site to crash after it garnered over eight million likes in less than 24 hours.

The actor, who has gained 6.5 million followers in under a day, made her debut on the platform with a photo of herself alongside Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry.

She captioned it: "And now we're Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM."

The post attracted so much attention it temporarily crashed the page, which is now back up and running.

Fans have long awaited a cast reunion. September 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of the sitcom’s premiere.

A two-hour reunion TV special in 2016 featured just five of the six leads as Perry was unable to attend.

There have been partial Friends reunion photos over the past few years, but this is the first time in a long while that all six stars have posed together in the same picture.

As for a potential reunion episode, the cast and crew have so far suggested that it will not happen and that the sitcom is best left as it is.
