From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. The Bafta-award winning actress, who has starred in Up the Women, Death Comes to Pemberley and Inspector Lewis, will be reunited with The Thick of It’s Peter Capaldi in an episode in the upcoming ninth series of the popular Saturday night drama.
It is not know yet what her part will entail in the episode that sees the return of the Zygons. According to a BBC press release, her role is closely guarded, “possibly by UNIT who also appear in the action-packed two-parter”.
The episode will also see the actress reunited with Jenna Coleman after the two starred in Death Comes to Pemberley in 2013, with Front playing Mrs Bennett, the mother of Coleman’s Lydia Wickham.
Front joins an impressive line-up for Doctor Who series nine, including Maisie Williams, Michelle Gomez, Rufus Hound, Paul Kaye and Jaye Griffiths.
The BBC Cymru Wales produced drama will return to BBC One this autumn with further casting to be announced in due course.
