Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Who is America? reaches its final episode tonight, with Sacha Baron Cohen saying there will not be a second season.

Has he saved the best until last? The show has seen him fool Dick Cheney, Corey Lewandowski, Roy Moore, Joe Arpaio and more, with a Sarah Palin interview not even making the final cut.

In a trailer Baron Cohen tweeted ahead of episode 7’s broadcast we see all the fallout from the show, with some public figures stepping down from their positions and others vowing to take the comedian to court.

It ends with his Gio Monaldo saying: “Me and you we got something in common, we both – how you say – ladykillers,” before showing the person in question to be O.J. Simpson (who was famously found "not guilty" of murder in a trial verdict watched by millions), who is quick to declare: “What? No I didn’t kill nobody!”

Half an hour out. Here are thoughts on last week's ep:

We're about to get underway. I really hope this all ends with Erran Morad going "suit shopping" with Paul Manafort.

Billy Wayne up first in the finale, with former Democratic congressman Barney Frank.

"I don't believe Donald Trump was giving Billy Bush advice on how to fight rats."

This is some of Ruddick's finest trolling. The child prostitution receipt!

Christopher Hooton27 August 2018 03:06

Erran Morad trains Trump voters to infiltrate liberal circles with an in-depth knowledge of HBO's Girls. This is a lot of fun

Christopher Hooton27 August 2018 03:11

"What is the aim of the Me Too movement?

"Take over the world. Kill all the men.

Wow.

That compliment-off could easily have been a scene from Parks and Rec

Rednecks spit-roasting an effigy of Donald Trump. The logical conclusion to these weekly training segments.
