From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke has gotten slightly more adventurous in the last few weeks.

Last week, the presenter wrestled the members of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and got naked with them. Now he’s jumping on rollercoasters and doing shots of ginger with Selena Gomez.

The singer, who shot to international fame after appearing on the Disney Channel, shared a McDonalds with The Late Late Show presenter before discussing being an original member of the #squad.

After Corden says the Taylor Swift selected gang is ‘a bit sexist’, Gomez says: “I think this industry could use a little female sexism. I think we have a right to be that way, it’s a lot harder to do what I have to do.”

According to Swiftipedia, there is actually a male member of the #squad: the UK’s very own Ed Sheeran, known to be a friend of Swift’s. Whether Tom Hiddleston will be joining the group is as-yet unconfirmed.

Meanwhile, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas previously helped Corden get to work, speaking about purity rings and relationships along the way.
