Prince is notoriously social media awkward: he once attempted to host a Facebook AMA and answered just one question, said “the internet was over” and pulled his much from Spotify.
However, the pop aficionado has started his very own certified - and active - Instagram account, which he has nicknamed ‘Princestagram’.
It’s full of photos of the artist from all stages of his career as well as a host of memes and funny videos.
The music mogul recently told the New York Post “it’s a bad time for music in general” as pop is not moving forward.
“There might be music that sounds like me, but what good is that? You’re essentially in the feedback loop.
“There’s not a lot of pop music in the mainstream that makes you feel scared, that makes you wonder what’s happening.”
He went on to praise artists Joshua Welton and Jangle Monáe for their work: “I'm not the kind of person who's down on young people in music. Joshua is one of the new generation who can do multiple things.
"Janelle Monáe is making her own music industry with her music and her label [Wondaland]. She's not afraid of anybody. One day, she's gonna be president and no one's gonna even know what happened!”
