From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Nicki Minaj has confirmed that she will feature on Adele’s forthcoming fourth album, and that the pair have already shot a music video for the track.

Speaking at a fashion launch in Los Angeles, Minaj said that she had been sworn to secrecy about the collaboration, but didn’t want to keep quiet about it.

Asked if she would be open to recording with Adele, Minaj told Entertainment Tonight: “Yes and yes, yes and yes, woo-hoo!”

She added that she actually had worked with the singer already, saying: “Adele made me swear to secrecy that I’m not allowed to tell anyone, [but] I’m working with her and we already shot a music video and it’s an epic song.”

The track would mark Adele’s first collaboration with another artist since 2009, when she appeared on the track “Water and a Flame” by Daniel Merriweather.

Adele confirmed herself as a Minaj fan in 2016, when she delivered a pitch-perfect rendition of Minaj’s infamous verse on Kanye West’s “Monster” during an appearance on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.

In May, Adele teased her fourth album via an Instagram message in which she spoke of her 31st birthday.

“31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself,” she wrote. “For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once.”

Earlier this month, Ryan Tedder was forced to deny rumours that his forthcoming album with One Republic featured Beyoncé, Adele and Chris Martin on one track. He claimed he was only joking when he teased the song.
