Your support makes all the difference.A rumoured collaboration between Beyoncé, Adele and Chris Martin teased by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder was a “joke”, the singer has confirmed.
In an interview with the New York radio station Z100 last weekend, Tedder claimed that the superstars all feature on a track for OneRepublic’s forthcoming album Human.
“We’ve been dropping song after song,” he said. “We have one song featuring Beyoncé and Adele, with a Chris Martin piano solo in the bridge.”
Tedder has now confirmed he was a joking. On his Instagram story, Tedder wrote: “Me, utilising ‘sarcasm’, ‘kidding’ and a ‘joke’ simultaneously: ‘Ya, we have one song featuring Beyoncé, Adele and Chris Martin, but I don’t wanna talk about it or give too much away’.”
“Come on people!!” Tedder added, alongside images of Snow White and a puppy giggling.
He did admit, however, that the idea sounded promising. “All that said,” he continued, “wouldn’t that be a [fire] collab? I’d stream it.”
Adele has not released new music since her acclaimed third album 25. The English singer has made limited public appearances since then, fuelling speculation among fans that she is working on new material.
Beyoncé’s most recent album was the soundtrack to this year’s Lion King remake.
