The singer's beloved track, 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', racked up a global total of 13.5M plays over the past week; with Spotify announcing it had been streamed over 100M times so far.
Though Spotify's been relegated to a rather controversial position in the music industry following the high profile departure of Taylor Swift's music from their catalogues, The Guardian estimates Carey's track has generated around $66K over the Christmas period. Not too shabby for a song first released in 1994.
The track ranked number 6 on the overall global charts for the week; falling behind a triple whammy of Justin Bieber tracks ('Sorry', 'Love Yourself', and 'What Do You Mean?') and Adele's smash-hit 'Hello'.
Spotify isn't, of course, streaming the overall Christmas number 1; Lewisham and Greenwich's NHS Choir has gracefully landed the coveted spot, following main contender Bieber encouraging fans to buy their single, 'A Bridge Over You'.
Though Bieber still made himself known, the Top 10 tracks streamed in the UK on Christmas Day does make for a fairly reliable playlist:

7. 'Driving Home for Christmas' Chris Rea - 360,154 plays
8. 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' Wizzard - 349,444 plays
