Your support helps us to tell the story
My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.
Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.
Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Tributes are pouring in after Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley, died at the age of 54.
The musician died at a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a medical emergency at home, just two days after she attended the Golden Globes.
In a statement, the Presley family said: “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie.
“They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Presley was transported from her home in Calabasas, California, to hospital after paramedics performed CPR on her following a possible cardiac arrest, TMZ first reported.
Following in the footsteps of her father, Presley pursued a career in the music industry.
She released three albums: To Whom It May Concern (2003), Now What (2005), and Storm & Grace (2012).
In 2018, her new record Where No One Stands Alone featured 14 original performances recorded by Elvis including a reimagined duet, in which she sang alongside her father – who died at the age of 42 in 1977.

We must be careful with information on ‘sudden deaths’, Saralyn Mark, MD, writes for The Independent
In an op-ed for The Independent, Saralyn Mark, MD, writes that accurate information is more important than ever after conspiracy theorists falsely attempted to link Presley’s death to vaccines.
“These tragic scenarios illustrate the misinformation, disinformation and just plain confusion which has clouded our lives during the past three years,” she writes.
“While there have been reports that mRNA vaccines and Covid-19 infections can lead to cardiac complications, one study’s lead author stresses that, ‘the risk of myocarditis following Covid-19 vaccination was quite small compared to the risk of myocarditis after Covid-19 infection’.
“In another study, published in Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine in August 2022, researchers found that the risk of myocarditis is more than seven-fold higher in persons who were infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, than those who were vaccinated.”

Essay Presley wrote about her son’s death resurfaces
Last year, Presley wrote an emotional essay about the death of her son Benjamin Keough.
The 27-year-old, who was the grandson of Elvis Presley, died by suicide in 2020.
Presley, who said her life was “detonated and destroyed” by Keough’s death, urged people to join support groups, writing: “Nothing, absolutely NOTHING takes away the pain, but finding support can sometimes help you feel a little bit less alone.”

Elvis’s ex Linda Thompson remembers Lisa Marie Presley ‘was so much like her daddy it was uncanny'
Linda Thompson, Elvis’s last major girlfriend after his divorce from Priscilla, is “devastated and shocked” by Presley’s recent death.
Speaking to People, Thompson said that she and Presley had remained “in touch, off and on for all these years – most recently by text”.
“In fact, the very last text to me was a simple ‘Love you Linda’ with a heart emoji,” she added.
Elvis and Thompson began dating in 1972, a month before his divorce from Priscilla was finalised. Their relationship lasted for four years. Thompson eventually ended it in 1976.
“Lisa Marie was so much like her daddy it was uncanny,” the songwriter and actor said.
“She had his deep, soulful eyes, his pouty lip, and his raucous, irreverent sense of humour. She was a beautiful contradiction like Elvis… complicated in her simplicity,” Thompson remembered. “She was brutally honest, straightforward, loving and loyal. I don’t think there was a phoney cell in her body. I believe she lived her life authentically.”
Thompson went on to marry Caitlyn Jenner in 1981, before they divorced in 1986. They share two sons Brody, 39, and Brandon, 41. She was later married to Canadian singer David Foster for 14 years between 1991 and 2005.
