From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Kanye West has delayed his album again, apparently to add final touches to mixes on specific songs.

The rapper’s new record Jesus is King was originally announced for release on 27 September by West’s wife, Kim Kardashian-West. This was then pushed back to 29 September with no explanation, but the album never arrived.

It was later announced that Jesus is King would be released at midnight Pacific time on 25 October. However, fans who stayed up for the release were disappointed again.

West has now tweeted that he is working on the mixes of tracks including “Everything We Need” and “Follow God”.

“To my fans,” he wrote. “Thank you for being loyal and patient. We are specifically fixing mixes on “Everything We Need” “Follow God” & “Water”. We not going to sleep until this album is out!”

Earlier West shared the full tracklist for the album, below:

West recently appeared on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, where he made a number of controversial statements, including that his support of US president Donald Trump was “God’s practical joke to all liberals”.

He also deemed himself “the greatest human artist of all time”.

Feel free to tweet at me @Roisin_OConnor and let me know your thoughts on the record, and I'll add them here too. I'm writing up a full review on the record now so this blog will likely be wrapping up shortly.

It's actually painful comparing this to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Late Registration or any of Ye's other, great albums. Quality just doesn't compare. The production, you could argue, is just as good, but everything else...

I think we're gonna wrap this blog up now. I've listened to the record approx. six or seven times and I think I've made up my mind. Thanks so much all for following along as I wallowed in misery before the album was FINALLY released, and then again while I went through a rather torturous process of doing an immediate track-by-track review. I hope you've enjoyed it, see you on Christmas Day for Jesus is Born.

That's all for our track-by-track analysis from Music Correspondent Roisin O'Connor. Now for all the latest Jesus Is King news...

Kanye West recently claimed that he is "unquestionably, undoubtedly, the greatest human artist of all time", which, according to Roisin's review of Jesus Is King, might be a bit of a reach. Read it here!

In his interview with Zane Lowe yesterday, Kanye West discussed his struggle with pornography addiction, saying that finding his father's Playboy magazine when he was five was his "gateway" to a "full-on" addiction.

In the same interview, West said that his Christian awakening became after Coachella.

Speaking of Twitter, West hasn't tweeted since thanking his fans for their patience and explaining that he was fixing some mixes prior to the album's release.

Breaking news! West says he's going to embark on a new tour "right away" – as he told TMZ in New York City on Friday.
