Everything you need to know about this year's ceremony
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference. The Annual Grammy Awards is arguably the biggest night in the calendar for music fans across the universe. With an eclectic range of nominees honouring genres from rap to country, the evening truly is the music industry's Oscars equivalent. Below are all the details you need on how to see the ceremony, who'll be performing and, of course, which artists are in contention.
What day is the Grammys?
The 2016 Grammy Awards will take place tonight (15 February) at Los Angeles' Staples Centre in California. All the nominated acts were picked from the eligible year timeframe which ran from October 2014 through to September 2015 (which accounts for the lack of Grammys-favourite Adele who released the chart-topping record 25 in November).
How can I watch the Grammys?
If you're a West Coast US-dwelling viewer, the Grammys will air live from 8 PM on the CBS Television Network (that's 4:30 AM here in the UK - you can follow us on Twitter here for all the live updates you'll need). If you're desperate to see the ceremony in its entirety, 4Music are airing the Grammys from 8 PM on Tuesday 16 February.
Who is hosting the ceremony?
That would be Grammys regular LL Cool J who returns as the presenter for his fifth year in a row.
Who's performing?
The ceremony has got quite an eclectic mix of performers lined up. Adele - officially the world's biggest-selling artist - will take to the stage, as will Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber. The most anticipated performance of the night, however, comes in the form of Lady Gaga's "experimental" tribute to the late David Bowie - a musician she has long cited as her influence.
