Courtney Love has hinted at a duet with Miley Cyrus, just days after the world groaned at news that Lily Allen is joining the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s Bangerz world tour.

It comes as no surprise that Love, 49, is a fan of pop’s latest wild child. An experienced headline-grabber whose Nineties controversies make Cyrus’ antics ook lame, the US musician and former drug addict found global fame as frontwoman of grunge girl band Hole and wife to the late Kurt Cobain.

“If it wasn’t for Miley Cyrus, 2013 would’ve been a dull dreary year,” she wrote on Twitter last December. “If you can’t agree with that, you’re an idiot.”

Love has also described Cyrus as “sort of punk in a weird sex way” in the past.

Love turns 50 on Wednesday after staying sober and clean for seven years and, it seems, she’s keen to jump on the serial twerker’s bandwagon to celebrate.

“Miley and me, we are just talking about it, we will see,” she told news.com.au. “I am not pop but I have a lot of friends on social media and friends who are pop stars. There’s just not a lot of rock’n’roll girls out there, so for whatever reason (pop stars) look up to me.”

Love also mentioned Lana Del Rey as a potential future collaborator. “I have a distinctive voice and it might sound cool if it’s the right song,” she said.

The “Ultraviolence” star sparked outrage in June when she told a Guardian interviewer that her life was “one f***ed movie” and she "wishes she was dead already". When asked whether stars that die young are “glamourous” she replied: “I don’t know. Ummm, yeah.”

Cobain and Love’s daughter, Frances Bean, hit out at Del Rey, tweeting that “the death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticise”.

“I’ll never know my father because he died young and it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool’,” she wrote. Cobain killed himself at his Seattle home twenty years ago.

Love is set to tour Australia this August where she reckons she will be well-received for staying in good shape.

“As long as you look all right, you can still perform,” she said. “They will forgive you all the drugs in the world but they will never forgive you getting fat.”
