Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

"Shape of You" hit No.1 in an eye-watering 113 countries around the world. His third album 'Divide' was the biggest album of 2017 and he's one of the most successful British artists of all time
Ronnie Wood is presenting Ed with this award and looks like he's just about managing to stand up
Kendrick Lamar is performing live, right now, YOU GUYS WE'RE VERY EXCITED
Pretty much everyone is wondering how Liam Gallagher got away with swearing but not Kendrick. They muted a fair bit of the latter's performance just then :/
We're getting close to the end of the night now, at British Artist Video of the Year
Harry Styles takes the prize with his video for "Sign of the Times"! Which featured him "walking on water" (attached to a wire on a helicopter)
We don't envy anyone who has to follow Kendrick Lamar's live performance but Rita Ora is doing a pretty stellar job with this mashup of "Your Song" and "Anywhere"
Aaaaand Liam Payne is trotting on for their Fifty Shades of Grey collaboration!
