Beyoncé nearly fell over at the Super Bowl and you didn't notice
Only Beyoncé could recover this smoothly.
Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Beyoncé's Super Bowl 50 halftime show was a feat needed to be seen to be believed. Apparently some individuals known as Coldplay and Bruno Mars also performed, but all eyes were on Queen B and the first live performance of her new track 'Formation'.
Unsurprisingly, she killed every moment like the consummate superstar she is, even though the revved up dance moves so nearly led to disaster.
The artist very, very nearly fell over. Except, she didn't, because she has the reaction times of Superman and recovered before anyone actually had a chance to notice.
The rest of the performance, however, went off without a hitch; seeing her join forces with Bruno Mars for a riotous duet of 'Uptown Funk'. She didn't, however, perform the Coldplay collab 'Hymn for the Weekend' that most audiences expected; the band instead plumped for old hits 'Viva La Vida' and 'Fix You'.
She followed her performance by announcing to the world she'd be embarking on a worldwide stadium tour this spring. Which likely made a few people actually fall flat on their faces.
