From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

There is just over a month to go until the seventh instalment of the superhero franchise hits UK cinemas on 22 May.

Jackman is back as clawed antihero Wolverine, seen in the short clip gathering mutants for a desperate battle against time to save the future from doom.

“I was sent here for you from the future, 50 years from now,” he tells McAvoy’s Charles Xavier (the telepathic Professor X).

“Tell the person who sent me, I’m busy,” comes the stony reply, before Wolverine drops a bombshell: “The person who sent me, was you.”

Lawrence’s Mystique is also soon recruited. “We need you Mystique, you’re a cold-hearted b**ch,” Wolverine begs.

“Well don’t hold back,” she quips.

Cue lots of fighting, window-shattering, guns, lasers, you name it.

Ellen Page, Nicholas Hoult, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Daniel Cudmore and Halle Berry will also be returning in various roles.

Then, as if the line-up could get any more star-studded, Game of ThronesPeter Dinklage, Josh Helman, Booboo Stewart, Adan Canto, Omay Sy, Fan Bingbing, Evan Peters and Evan Jonigkeit all make their X-Men debuts.
