Fresh details surrounding Wonder Woman 2 have trickled in following the confirmation that cameras will begin rolling on the superhero sequel this summer.

One such detail regards the villain of the follow-up who is confirmed to be Cheetah, the alter ego of British anthropologist Barbara Ann Minerva.

There's no current word on who'll be playing Cheetah, however, reports suggest that the role was turned down by La La Land Oscar-winner Emma Stone.

Still, one detail that's been confirmed is the film's production start date with producer Charles Roven telling ComicBook.com that filming begins this summer.

“We're in what I would call development of the screenplay,” Roven stated. “We finally, I think, have a good story to tell. We're hoping to start shooting the movie sometime this summer, and hope to have it out by the end of '19.”

The film, reportedly being shot by filmmaker Patty Jenkins under the working title Magic Hour, is said to bring Gal Gadot's protagonist to the 80s for the Cold War. She was last seen in 2017 DC superhero mashup Justice League.

Wonder Woman 2 was recently confirmed to become the first film to adopt the Producer's Guild of America's (PGA) new anti-sexual harassment guidelines in the wake of the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.

The film is being lined up for a November 2019 release.
